A Well Made Bean Pie!
Since we have been sheltering in place these past few weeks, I have been taking the opportunity to work on some tasks that I have desired to do but time would not permit. Successfully making a bean pie without the presence of hulls and tasting so amazing that you would want to eat it in the morning for breakfast has always been a dream of mine! So I went on the hunt online and found that golden recipe that a sister posted 3 years ago on her blog, sisterdiy.com. Her written and video instructions were so exact that any one can follow them and make a most delicious bean pie, especially if you like the custard type!😊
The Muslim’s famous bean pie is a great way to incorporate the powerful navy bean into the diet along with the healthy healing navy bean soup. In How to Eat to Live the Honorable Elijah Muhammad says, “This bean He (Master Fard Muhammad) valued to be very high in protein, fats and starches, and it is a safe food for prolonging life….He (Master Fard Muhammad) said that He could take one of our babies and start him off eating the dry small navy bean soup, and make the child live 240 years.” Now how can one not have an interest in that!?
Need more benefits of the navy bean? In this clip the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan talks about the protective effects of the navy bean against excessive estrogen build up, particularly in men which plays a critical role in the feminization of the Black male.. One of the things he says is ,”This navy bean is such a powerful fighter.” Need anymore reasons to eat navy beans?
